Ray Cal is a wildlife ecologist and the manager of Runaway Creek Nature Reserve in central Belize. He is in charge of field operations and maintaining security, so that Runaway Creek continues to stay a model wildlife haven. Ray is a Maya person who grew up surrounded by nature in southern Belize and always dreamed of working outdoors. Ray first joined Runaway Creek as a field assistant in 2001 during a mist-netting and bird-banding operation, which made him fall in love with his job.
