Marcos Bera Chova is the manager of the reforestation and honey programs on Mount Gorongosa. He joined Gorongosa National Park in 2012 as a reforestation specialist and forest technician. He loves the forest and has wanted to work in it since he was a little kid watching forest rangers driving by on their bikes. He completed his course in forestry from the Instituto Agrário de Chimoio, where he developed the passion and skills for reforestation. He has previously worked with companies on reforestation with exotic species. He believes that, “if we want to use the resources, let’s use them, but let’s also plant. So that is what always motivates me.”
