Dr. Jeanette Wyneken is a Professor of Biological Sciences at Florida Atlantic University (FAU), located on the southeastern coast of Florida. She received her Ph.D. in biology from the University of Illinois. She has more than 40 years of experience studying the biology, conservation, and health of sea turtles. Her long history of successful collaborations with other scientists, educators, and veterinarians has resulted in more than 85 peer-reviewed publications, five books, and 24 book chapters. Dr. Wyneken has mentored 25 master’s students, three undergraduate honors students and four Ph.D. students. She currently has four Ph.D. students. She has a strong interest in sharing her research and experiences in science with the public as well as with students. She teaches “Vertebrate Structure, Development, and Evolution,” “Biology and Conservation of Sea Turtles,” and a variety of advanced topics in vertebrate biology at FAU.
